Up until my second year of University I maintained my natural hair color and wore it in all types of
I was so accustomed to my own color, but was growing restless with the constant brown. I wanted something that was as
wildly-tamed as my curls and personality.
In 2010, I started my color journey and streaked my hair.
I ended up with a burnt-orange hue, which suited me fine!
But it wasn’t quite enough color for me.
The second time around we (my sister and I) used a streaking cap, and I ended up with the majority of my hair being colored.
When my roots started to MAP (make an appearance) I was
too lazy to pull out my handy-dandy streaking cap, so I sectioned out my hair that was mostly colored, and jumped down the blonde-box rabbit hole!
And jumped again.
But I wasn’t quite getting
the shade of blonde that I wanted, and it was fading faster than I expected.
So my trusty chemist and I took steps.
We doubled up the box dosage.
I also did a havoc-chop because my ends were damaged
after a straightening stint over the summer.
